Think of Black Friday
as a week

Black Friday is no longer a single day

Although £1.23bn was spent on Black Friday 2016 alone, a staggering £6.45 bn was spent from 21-28 November.*

Sales conversions are higher

For the Black Friday period overall, the conversion rate was 35% higher than the Christmas period for 2016.**

Customers are demanding more

They will only shop if there is significant discounting. Use this as a hook and then associate other products.

Take back Tuesday

The day people return their unwanted gifts

We know from our experience in January 2017 that this is when many online purchases are returned. We saw parcel volumes surge in Royal Mail Tracked Returns® as people sent back unwanted Christmas presents.

  1. Make it easy – 88% of returners would be likely to shop again with a retailer that provides resealable packaging.*
  2. Make it convenient – Customers like receiving returns labels with their original order but with 42% ordering on a mobile device, a mobile returns service is a good option too.**
  3. Make it accessible – 70% of shoppers would use a retailer if they use the Post Office® for returns.*

Introducing Labels to Go

You send your customer a link to our returns page, so they can simply:

  1. Download a QR code to their mobile
  2. Use it to print their parcel label at their local Royal Mail Customer Service Point
  3. Drop their parcel and go.

What our customers say

What online shoppers are saying about Christmas

We asked some summer shoppers what their plans were for Christmas shopping and sending this year – and how important a convenient parcel collection option is to them.

What etailers say

Royce Lingerie sells its products online and through retailers around the UK.

As online customers increasingly expect free returns, the business recently decided to move with the market.

“When it comes to products like bras it’s important that customers get the right fit. Royal Mail Tracked Returns® make it easy for our customers to send items back and we offer it free with every order.”

Richard Fleming, Operations Manager, Royce Lingerie

Justmylook has quickly established an online presence for its beauty products with young women.

Fraud had been a constant concern for the business and the owner Luke reports that Royal Mail Tracked 48® has had a major impact on false claims of ‘non-delivery’ and has also seen a reduction in the number of customer enquiries, as customers can now self-serve.

“We believe in looking after our customers and we wanted to lead the market by offering a free tracked service.”

Luke Williams, Owner, Justmylook
